Book an Appointment

Fred Newton was fed up with not being able to sleep. He had insomnia, plus anxiety and digestion issues, and nothing was helping. He’d tried meditation, yoga, and all the medications that doctors recommend, but couldn’t find any relief. His friends recommended acupuncture, but he didn’t take them seriously.

“I didn’t think of it as a viable option,” Fred says.

Fred didn’t have any close friends or family members who had tried acupuncture, which meant he didn’t have anyone to explain to him how it worked or the benefits they received from it. Frankly, Fred was skeptical. But after exhausting all the other options, he decided he would give acupuncture a try.

As a supervisor at a theme park, Fred found that his insurance covered acupuncture. He requested a recommendation and they provided him with a list of providers. After doing a little research on local review sites, Fred came across the positive reviews for 120 Acupuncture Clinic and made his first appointment for the middle of January 2020.

After going to the clinic for acupuncture twice a week for six weeks, Fred says he’s started to see results.

“They’re not dramatic results, but they’re noticeable,” Fred says. “First, I feel more relaxed and rejuvenated. I’m less stressed out and I feel like I’m not carrying a burden anymore. I can breathe lighter and easier.” Fred says he’s more optimistic, too.

While his sleeping hasn’t changed dramatically, Fred says he’s come to realize that curing his insomnia may take time, because it’s a systemic issue that he’s had to deal with for years. He has started to notice a difference in his anxiety levels, thanks to the relaxation that acupuncture has brought to him.

“Acupuncture isn’t a one-time deal,” Fred says. “It takes a while for the treatment to affect your body, especially if you’ve had the issue for a long time. And everyone is different.”

Fred is committed to continuing his treatment and is sure that the relief will continue to grow. He finds the treatments to be refreshing, like a calming, peaceful meditation session that is meant to allow the body to heal. One of the major benefits of the treatment is forcing busy people like Fred to sit in a dark room without any distractions. This has had the greatest impact on his anxiety.

One thing that helps Fred keep coming to his appointments is how upbeat and positive the staff at 120 Acupuncture Clinic are. “It feels like you’re invited to come in for ‘me time,’” Fred says. “This is the time to focus on your body.”

Fred says it was worth his time to give acupuncture a try, and recommends that anyone with a seemingly unsolvable issue do the same. If a patient is truly willing to be open to the possibility that acupuncture can help, and willing to commit to a handful of sessions instead of expecting to be immediately healed, they’ll see improvements over time.

“I’m totally a proponent now,” Fred says. “I was skeptical, but I can say it’s worth trying acupuncture out.”
